A Message from The President: Amy MacMillin:

Happy New Year and hopefully your 2021 is off to a good start. I just want to fill the members in on what your board has been busy with while still dealing with COVID. The committees have been busy working on things. The Financial Review Committee is meeting on Tuesday to review the budget and expenses etc. The MLS committee is meeting with Metro MLS on Tuesday to discuss our new contract. The Fair Housing committee sent out a quiz to the general membership dealing with fair housing; Shelly Vogel (Chair) even offered up a $25 gift certificate to be given in a drawing of all those who took the quiz. The Professional Standards Committee (Chaired by Barry Nelson) has been busy; and also set up Professional Standard Training on the 26th of January, this is important training and if you are interested in taking this (free) training or have more questions about it; please contact your Broker or Barry Nelson; I've taken it in the past and will be again taking it on the 26th, it's very interesting. The membership chair (Judy S.) has been pouring through the application and the bylaws, procedure, and rules to make sure everything jives. Unfortunately through the years changes were made to rules and somehow didn't get put in the the bylaws, or procedures or rules or maybe just one place but not the other; it's an ongoing process that we are working on cleaning up. The Personnel Committee chair (Lisa Nelson) and I have been going over the AE's handbook and are getting it ready to bring before the board, then off to legal counsel for the final okay. Finally, your VP (Kris R.) has set up the general membership meeting for Thursday 1/21 at Machuts Supper Club live with a speaker, Mayor Nichols to let us know what's been happening in Manitowoc. I know I am excited to hear some good news about upstarting businesses. So even though we haven't been able to get together in person; we have been very busy moving forward. I'd like to send a sincere thank you to all of you that called, emailed or text with condolences to our office this past couple weeks, Cate will be missed, and it's been a very emotional time for our office; your kind words meant a lot. Finally, if anyone needs me for anything this week, I will be at home quarantining; my whole family of 5 are out with the COVID; hopefully I'll be back energized the week of our MCBR meetings and raring to go. Hope all of you and your families are safe and well.

What's Up In The Office

I am continuing to stay busy with all of the day to day work! Looking ahead this week, I have a Finance Meeting, the MLS Board meeting, RPAC training, and 2 NAR Zoom calls about the Code of Ethics and MLS mandatory changes. While dues are done, I still have a few things to finish up on that front. I have several of you to follow up with on unpaid invoices, so if you have one, please get it paid! Very importantly, have to work on the audit review, and the NAR mandatory changes mentioned above.
I will be in the office almost all day each day this week, but may not always be available based on what I have going on. Have a great week everyone!
