Volume 06 | February 10, 2020
Hello and happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend! Raise your hand if you need a weekend from your weekend! (Now, if your hand is in the air, laugh at yourself because I can't see you! Haha!) My weekend was so busy! On Saturday we had family over to celebrate my little guy's birthday! (He will be 5 tomorrow!) On Sunday we got Eli his birthday present (a yet-to-be-named Anolie), then went bowling and to dinner with my parents and sister's family. Today I'm dragging! LOL. Now, enough about me, on to the important stuff:

Realtor in Government Day Recap
On Wedensday, February 5th, myself and 8 members of MCBR attended Realtor In Government Day in Madison with the WRA.
To be very honest, I didn't really know what to expect, and thought that it would be a somewhat boring day.
I couldn't have been more wrong! Not only did we have a lot of fun, but I learned so much! The WRA did an amazing job of prepping us prior to the meetings with lawmakers. They presented us with booklets of information on important issues and speaking points. Topics included things like "Restore the Right to Place a Pier on Flowages", "Prohibit Chasing Sales" and "Increase Workforce Housing Supply". I have several copies of the booklet here in my office if anyone would like to stop by and see one. The lawmakers were receptive and pretty easy to talk to. They all seemed supportive of the issues put in front of them!
The reception after, hosted by the WRA, was a great end to the day. All I can say is mashed potato martini's and amazing desserts! 🙂 (If you've never eaten mashed potatoes out of a martini glass before....do it!)

And now all I am going to be thinking about is cake all night long!
Have a great week everyone!
What's Up In the Office!
Last week was a really slow week.....
TOTALLY kidding. There is never a dull moment around here! Early in the week we had the MLS meeting where we are working on getting the MLS Board set up and addressing many topics. If you have questions on this process please contact your DR for more information.
I've continued to do work with the auditor on our 2018/2019 audit. Matt and I met again last week for over an hour! Please don't take all of this audit work as a sign of trouble. I was just not involved in 2018/19 at all, so it's taking a while for me to find some of the info he needs. Overall, everything seems to be in good shape! Matt will be attending the March Membership Meeting, so plan to attend if you have questions!
I finished up the week by catching up with emails and voicemails that I missed during Realtor in Government day. And Friday I took off early, as Wednesday was a 12 hour day!
As a reminder, I typically work from 8am to 4pm, but there may be times during the day that I am out of the office, or leave earlier than 4pm to run to the bank or post office, etc. I sometimes leave over the lunch hour as well. While I encourage people to stop in whenever they can if they'd like to talk/have questions/etc, it never hurts to shoot a text, call, or send an email to make sure I'm around!
